The specific objective of REPAP2020 was to facilitate the process of implementation of the Renewable Energy Directive on a national level. More in particular, the project aimed to support Parliamentarians and Civil Servants in national administrations as well as National Industry Associations in their political work related to the National Renewable Energy National Action Plans (NREAPs). In its first phase, and before the notification of the NREAPs to the European Commission, REPAP2020 accompanied the development of the NREAPs by offering good advice to the relevant authorities on the design of those documents. Furthermore, the project empowered national industry associations to come up with their individual National Industry Renewable Energy Roadmaps which served as important tool to influence the drafting phase of the NREAPs. Then, the project evaluated the NREAPs and presented best practice.
REPAP2020 also aimed at creating a network of key players and at offering them a platform for the RES industry as well as well as for parliamentarians and national administrations in charge of energy issues.
|

- Creation of a National RES Association Network with a two-fold aim: consolidate the dialogue among already existing RES national associations, and stimulate the creation of national associations in those EU countries that do not have yet such organisms, by showing key national actors the benefits brought by such a network.
- Activation of key parliamentarians at European and national levels and facilitation of exchange of views between stakeholders and parliamentarians, through meetings gathering National/European Members of the Parliament and key renewable energy stakeholders; Roundtables; Parliamentarians newsletters. Around 200 new National Parliamentarians dealing with RES were identified, thus strengthening even further the network of Parliamentarians already addressed by the project.
- Providing national renewable energy industry roadmaps to help the drafting of the NREAPs.
- Increase the level of knowledge of and the exchange of information about National Renewable Energy Action Plans through the creation of a "Competence Centre". With this purpose, workshops and bi-lateral meetings with NREAPs’ authors have been organized. Furthermore, guidelines for the design phase of NREAPS and a methodology for the evaluation of NREAPs were developed.
- The project results were presented at several relevant sectoral events around Europe, as well as mentioned in various articles published on sectoral magazines and in press releases. Two campaigns on REPAP2020 related issues were held on the EurActiv online information portal that is mainly addressed to European and national policy makers.
|

- The activities have helped to maintain a permanent dialogue between RES National Associations and other European and national stakeholders involved. Furthermore, it has triggered national debate and brought together various stakeholders involved in the implementation of the RES Directive.
- The project has contributed to a better dissemination of and knowledge about the RES Directive at a Member State level. The consortium partners managed to establish themselves as reference points for questions related to the RES Directive & its implementation. REPAP has prepared the ground for some working group of the currently on-going Concerted Action on the RES Directive.
- Several partners of the project have benefited from the network created in the project in terms of exchange of information and experiences. Furthermore, some of the documents already produced appear to be considered as a national reference thanks to the project activities.
